New toy on the block
“It looks so real. That’s why we bought it,” said a nine-year-old boy in The Star, Friday 2 November 2007.
“What is it about?” you asked.
“It’s about a new toy.”
“What sort of toy?”
“A toy cigarette.”
Pause.
If you think this is sick, I totally agree with you. What is it with people nowadays? It is not enough that some parents conduct private lessons on smoking to their kids at home. Now these kids can do practical training as well before they move on to the real one.
This reminds me of the statement by Menteri Besar Kelantan, labelling smokers as animals. Personally, I think animals have much better sense than us humans. Only humans would voluntarily and willingly put hazardous things inside their own bodies, despite their claims of being the most intelligent and dominant species on earth. You don’t see animals do that, do you?
But seriously.. toy cigarettes? Might as well skip the practical training and have them puffing on the real one right away.
